T (feature film), in postproduction
After being out as non-binary for four years, Em decides to take charge of their body and life and begin Testosterone therapy. Their fiancé Spencer reacts badly - though he is bisexual, he can’t imagine coming out to his family and publicly dating someone who isn’t a woman. Em leaves him, gets their prescription, and does their first Testosterone shot with their friend Rose, a trans woman navigating how to get back onstage after quitting music when she transitioned. Em starts dating Ana, a non-binary performance artist who shows Em how to let loose - and inspires a kind of sexual awakening in Em. But when Ana stops taking her bipolar medication, she starts acting erratically - and Em falls back into the comfort of their relationship with Spencer. Throughout the film, Em grows into themself, all while balancing their romantic relationships, friendships, and how to tell their single mother who they truly are. In an Instant (short film), in development
Based on a true love story that began in 1954 in Baltimore and was interrupted by cancer in 1985 in Berkeley. Written by Deb Fink.
Pinsetter (short film), in development
A hilariously nostalgic slice of life story from the 90s, Pinsetter follows Riley, an awkward 13-year-old who is tired of setting pins at her family's bowling alley. When her school crush gets hired to work alongside her, absolutely nothing happens. Just kidding! What a terrible idea for a film!
Pinsetter treads the waters of first romances, dealing with gross boys, and the realization that trying new things doesn't have to be awful. This is a queer film without the internalized homophobia that was so present in rural Texas in the 90s (where the film takes place); a chance to reimagine what could have been for so many young people. Instead of drowning in learned self-hate our protagonist gets to focus on the anxiety every young person deserves to struggle with - not knowing if you are your crush's crush. |
Written and directed by award-winning filmmaker and former professional pinsetter Rebecca Marquardt, this film will be made with a talented skeleton crew to minimize budget and maximize quality. Pinsetter made the top 8 short comedy screenplays at Slamdance and was in the top 20 short comedies on Coverfly. To help get this film off the ground and join the team, reach out to us.

BEAUTIFUL COLLATERALS is a collection of new written works on their way to becoming feature films, short films, theater pieces, novels, books and poetry. They are stories that want to be told. Your Stories Here is the place they begin to find the path onward.
